Quick Question For You Ladies

I was wondering if any of you had an ultrasound early on to date pregnancy and they only seen one baby and then went back for another ultrasound and there was 2 babies. What are the chances? The reason I am asking is because I have a doppler at home and I can hear 3 different heartbeats (1 being my own, the other 2 being on seperate sides of my abdomin (sp)). I go tomorrow for my ultrasound but just curious before I go what the chances could be. Also a little background, there is no twins on my side that I know of however this is my 5th pregnancy.

That is normal. You get echoes and pulses all over the place. When I had my twins, my ob always did an u/s instead of a doppler because she wanted to make sure she was getting both babies instead of just one with all the pulses that go with it. There is always a chance it is twins but more than likely there is just one. Keep us posted and good luck with your u/s!

How far along are you. Both my twins were seen & heard at 7wks.

i know that they saw both babies at 9weeks with me, that was my first u/s, I also wanted to say that when I was pg with my singleton I heard several different what i thought could be hb. There were 2, one was 167 and one was 150 something. It was an echo, and you also pick up the placenta noises. So its really hard to say if your actually carrying twins. I think since your going tomorrow for an u/s and your already picking up the babies hb it should be accurate and tell you how many your carrying..GL and please update us
