Should I Breast Feed My Twins

Hey ladies! I need some advice. I am currently 13 weeks - Yeah second trimester!! I have been thinking about the whole to br___t feed or not to br___t feed debate. I really want to try to br___t feed my twins. Have any of you tried and had success?? I know it would be easier to use formula but I also know br___t feeding in the long run is healthier. I just would like some advice from those who have tried. Thanks!!

Ive never nursed twins, but Ive nursed my 5 children and I plan on nursing these 2. Ive talked to a LOT of women who have had GREAT success with bf their twins. Some did supplement with formula, but that's ok also. I think if they get some b___stmilk thats better than none. I think its gonna be harder or I should say more time consuming. Though Im going to attempt to nurse them both at the same time, hopefully that will work. Anyways Im determined to TRY, I think if you want it to work you will be able to find a way. I do know that the first 6 weeks of nursing 1 baby or more is hard your nipples will be sore, you will be tired, engorged, etc. Ive learned that if you make it pa__sed the 6 week mark its all down hill..GL...

I nursed, pumped and used formula. I actually got 10 oz of milk from one b___st. You won't believe what your body can do for multiples. I know some twin moms that nursed exclusively. It is a lot of work but if you really want to do it, you can.

i nursed my 1st 4 children exclusively and i was planning on nursing my twins, but they were born early, had a hard time nursing, didn't gain enough weight ,which then made me have less milk , more stress, etc etc etc and in the end i couldn't do it. it's really too bad , definately nursing is the best, if you can - great, but if you can't don't beat yourself up about it.

I agree with Jenn95. It doesn't work out for everyone (it didn't for me) so don't be too hard on yourself if you find that you can't do it, but you certainly have nothing to lose by giving it your best shot!

It didn't work for me also. I felt horrible about it, but after I made my peace with the fact that I wasn't producing enough milk I was better. They got some for the first week so some is better than nothing.
