I'm a pretty small framed person, and I was wondering if my body is going to be able to support two babies. I am 5'2" and I weighed 100 lbs before the pregnancy. So far I've only gained 4 lbs, which sounds weird to me, because I've read that with twin pregnanies, women should be gaining more weight than usual. Are my babies taking everything from me and that's why I haven't gained much or what else could it be?

I'm sure you'll do fine. My sister had identical triplets, and pre-pregnancy she was 5 ft and 98 lbs. She did great. She didn't start gaining a lot of weight until the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Good luck to you!!

I am 5'1" and was 108 lbs pre-pregnancy. I carried my twins to full term with no major complications. I didn't gain much weight during the first 15 weeks or so. After that I started to gain weight more rapidly (about 40-45 lbs total). Once I found out we were having twins (at 20 weeks) I ate everything in sight. I was worried about the girls being small so I didn't hold back at all. They were 5lbs 3oz and 5lbs 8oz at birth. Surprisingly, every bit of my baby weight came off. I agree with JB that I'm sure you will do great. Just keep thinking positive thoughts! :)

I am 5'4 and I have always been small but with this twin pregnancy I have gained 40 lbs already. I am 29 weeks, but the strange thing is its all belly. My legs and b___t are the same and my face has not gained any weight at all. Everyones body is different but I gained my weight almost all in the second trimester not much at all in the beginning. So don't worry your body will do what it has to, to accomodate those little ones inside! LOL Good Luck

I had to respond to this one! I am 5' 3" and weighed 105 lbs. when I got pregnant with my twins. I weighed 167 when I delivered!! I was uncomfy, but I held 'em in there for 36 weeks 1 day. I've always been super tiny and when I found out I was having twins I freaked about it too, but your body is an amazing machine!!!

how far along are you? I'm only 5' and was around 100lbs when got pregnant with our twins. They are now 5months old. I didn't start showing until around 3 months. However after that I gained rather quickly! By 6 months people were asking me if I should be on my as they thought I was going to have the babies at anytime! I went to 34wks but was on bed rest for the last 11wks as my cervix opened. My son (who was baby A) help to separate my pelvis. I'm not trying to scare you, but it was tough. Keep in mind though that every pregnancy is different. I wish you all the best. Good luck!

I didn't start gaining large amounts of weight until about 3 weeks ago...I am 27 weeks now. I wouldn't worry about it. Your doctor will tell you if you're not gaining enough.
