I don't have twins but there are a lot of women in this forum who at a later date the next u/s shows two sacs and two babies....... How far are you?

Okay did they schedule another u/s like in a week from now?

I have heard of women with this question and it turns out to be twins but their u/s are around 5 or 6 weeks which is still early. Honestly, by 10 weeks it should be clear if you are having twins since you are approaching your second trimester. Was the empty sac small or were they the same size? Did he mention anything about Vanishing Twin Syndrome or does he think it is something else?

All I can say is that both my twins were totally visable at 7wks. As samehere stated by 10wks things are normally all in place. However you never know, a womans body is a strange thing sometimes. Good luck!

Amorcita, I am kinda going through the same thing; found out I was pregnant on April 2 went to the doctor and my levels were low! Doctor said not a vaible pregnancy. Had u/s that day and saw 1 sac but no fetal pole. Went back on wed. and had my levels checked to see if they had doubled, went from 5000 to 8562. (not good they said) gave me a 55% chance of miscarrage. Returned to doctor on the following day for u/s and a fetal pole was found with a good heartbeat!! On Thursday night, had light spotting ,rushed to ER, had u/s there and the sonographer said there appeared to be THREE sacs. Returned to the doctor Friday afternoon and they confirmed three sacs but two are empty. I'm not sure I understand at all but we already have three children at home but I pray that everything will be fine for the little one that is holding on and I have hopes that when I go back Monday morning for a repeat u/s they will find three heartbeats. I have heard that fraternal twins can show up at least 14 days apart? Do you know anything about this?

i am going through the same thing. i went for 3 ultra sounds and one baby is fine but there is an empty sac next to the baby my last u/s was last thursday i was 8 weeks baby measured 8weeks 5days and the empty sac was still there. have you had bad morning sickness?? i have and never had moring sickness like this. i started bleeding at 6 weeks for a couple of days then a week and half later started to spot doc said its beacause i am miscarrying the empty sac and the body should reabsorb it but shouldn't affect the other baby. i am kinda scared cos morning sickness no where near as bad and i just hope my baby is ok cos i had a missed miscarriage last october. is this normal if you lose a twin??

Actually, I have not had any morning sickness at all and I am taking 200mg of progesterone a day to get my levels up. I am worried about not being sick though. And I can't wait to get to the doctor tomorrow to see what's going on. I don't know much at all about having empty sacs and I'm trying to find out if it's possible for those sacs to somehow ontain a fetal pole a week or so apart?

one of my three sacs have a fetal pole and heartbeat of 132 b/p/m but the other two sacs are somewhat smaller and to the side of the one sac.

Don't worry about not being sick. Every pregnancy in every woman is different. Beings sick or not being sick ahs nothing to do with the health of you child/ren. Try to stay positive!
