Trying To Remain Calm

Hi all, this is one of the best forums I've come across! I'm so worried but am trying to remain calm. I had a US tvag done 4 wks ago & the Dr says it looks like it's twins but still too early. Today was my 4th US & my Dr says that I ought to be 7 wks preg but my preg sac (the second sac was not so prominent) looks 3 wks. Last week my HCG was high and she's taken another sample today & this Friday to see what to make of it. The best part of it all was, I know exactly when my husband & I had icourse so it works out to be 7wks! Oh man, I wonder if someone else has gone thro this!

Do you mean that one sac was on target and the other was measuring at 3 weeks or the larger sac was measuring 3 weeks and the 2nd sac was even smaller? If it is the first situation, then it sounds like VTS (vanishing twin syndrome) which is extremely common. Because of early u/s, they now think about 1 in 8 pregnancies start off as twins but most end up with VTS. If it is the second situation and your largest sac is measuring at 3 weeks though you are 7 weeks pregnant it doesn't look good. At 7 weeks, there should be a baby with a h/b in the sac or at the very least, a fetal pole. I hope all turns out well for you.
