Twin Father Passing Down Gene

My father has a fraternal twin brother. Does this increase my chance of conceving twins? So far I've only had singletons (I have 3 boys), but I'm just curious.

No, as your dh can NOT impact whether or not your body decides to drop one or two eggs. HOwever he can pa__s the gene to hyperovulate to any daughters you have.

Yes, from what I have heard it is possible for a father to pa__s on the twin gene to his daughter!

Even if it runs in the family, it only ups it up to a 3% chance.

Well my mum is an identical twin, her mother had siblings who were twins. Prior to that it skipped a generation and know one knows what was before that. There is nothing on my dads side. My Husbands aunts on his mothers' side are nonidentical twins and on his uncles on his fathers side are also non identical twins. My doc told me I have a 46% chance of twins (don't have a clue how she worked it out) but you have to ignore non identical twins - it's only identical ones that are the statistics to look at. My chances are increased as my mum is an identical twin. I have no idea why but that's the way she explained it to me! Personally I would LOVE twins. Instant family in half the normal time!!! weird that your doc said that id twinning is hereditary. The scientific community does acknowledge that it "may" run in some families, but since they haven't isolated the gene that causes it they say it isn't hereditary and you can NOT predict who in the family will have them.
On the other hand fraternal twins ARE hereditary and it IS pa__sed from mother to daughther increasing the odds to 1 in 17 if you, your mother or grandmother IS a FRAT twin or had FRAT twins.
