Twins With Vanishing Twin Syndrome

So I had lots of cramping the weekend of getting my period June 25th. No period came and i decided to test that sunday. I tested VERY faint positive. Tested again monday morning very faint positive. Monday midday i went to the OBGYN and tested urine negative. Blood test was taken. Monday night I had pain and went to the ER. ER said urine was positive and blood HCG was positive. Saw OBGYN soon after for blood work only. Blood work kept going up in triples. Not long after I was back at the ER for pain (never any bleeding) ER did an ultrasound and found two sacs but one was WAY smaller. Said it wont be anything. Saw 1 baby and heartbeat and measured one sac with baby around 5wks. But called it a twin pregnancy. Saw my OB later and he scheduled another ultrasound at 7 weeks roughly. Tech wouldn't tell me anything other than there was one healthy baby for sure. Dr. Called me and said one sac was measuring 5wks and the other at 7wks and there was only 1 baby and one heartrate. So hes calling the other a vanishing twin because its only a cluster of cells. Isn't that what is supposed to be at 5wks size? I also think i have a tipped uterus and am wondering if it can give a false impression on the dr if not see just right? am I wishful thinking? I already went through greiving and now i dont know what to think I'm sick all day long nausea and vomitign all day everyday this is my 3rd child or 3-4th? My progesterone dropped too but that happened with my last pregnancy im on 200MG Prometrium. I am just wondering if i should get a 2nd opinion?

After an ultrasound around 10 weeks they determined the 2nd baby didn't form into anymore than a cluster of cells. They called it a vanishing twin. No bleeding or spotting what-so-ever. I ended up going for my 5 month ultrasound they still only see one baby and all my twin symptoms disappeared except the morning sickness i have on and off which usually stopped with my other two around the 2nd trimester.
We are blessed with a healthy baby girl right now and the pregnancy is going great. No signs of the 2nd sac anymore (but then again stranger things could happen and it may be hiding but I highly doubt it).
Thanks for checking back! Are you going through anything similar or just wondering?

yes, similar :)
I had an ultrasound and in Canada, they don't really tell you much and so she said I was about 4-5 weeks along and that was it. She left the room for a few minutes and so I checked the screen and there were two distinct sacs. went to the doctor and they said there was only one baby. I have another ultrasound on Monday and so I have been looking at these posts to see what the odds are that it is growing a few days or so behind or if it is vanishing twin syndrome? Thank you for responding though...most vanishing twin ( so I have read on this site) don't even form into a cluster of cells...so yeah, you just never know!

I am praying for everyone and hope all the best, no matter what my God, is in control :)
