I'm preg with my second child, And I had a "vanishing twin" It jsut disolved back into the uterine lining, it didn't miscarry. I had 2 small brownish bleeds, a hypoechoic area on the preplacental area and a positive maternal serum screening test for downs, but the amnio proved wrong. Have anyone else experienced this?

I live in ny and I watch the discovery health channel all the time and they recently aired a show about this. Maybe if you have that channel you could keep watching until they air it again. Sorry I dont have more info. G/L with everything.

I had vanishing twin with my oldest son. i had minor spotting about 30 days into my pregnancy and then nothing. my doc said if i hadn't had early problems hence an early u/s i would have never known. however i am a product of a pregnancy with vanishing twin. they didn't do ultrasounds then routinly but they thought my mom was having like 5 (no meds and in the 70s so very shocking) so they gave her one and I was normal roughly 18 weeks and my twin was only 5 weeks they said it would reabsorbe and it did I was the only one who came out per my mom.
