I am medically obese. I am 5 ft. 6 in. and wiegh 220 pounds. I am 35 and really want to become pregnant this year as I am getting older not younger . I would feel much more confident about this however if I were to loose weight , but to no avail I have been trying and not winning in that battle ... is it ok to continue trying throughout the pregnancy . I have heard that other women stay off all sugars and bad carbs through thier whole PG and seem to do really well.
I am also a little concerned that I may gain more fat during the PG and not be able to loose that afterward and become depressed over it all.
Any ideas would be appreciated . Ideally I would like to try for a DEC baby , but anywhere in the cooler months is great as it takes the edge off when it is cooler from what I hear.

Shey, I am medically obese too (too embarrased to state my #'s but they are close to your yours). I was heavier than that when we concieved our singleton and lost all the weight I put on (40 lb). I gained 33 with the twins and lost about 50 of after I had them (thanks to Breastfeeding). I think as long as you eat healthy during your pregnacy you are good. You should never diet during pregnancy as you don't want to not take in the right amounts/kinds of foods. Maybe your OB can give you the name of a prenatal nutritionist.
