Identical twinning is not heriditary, just luck of the draw. If the twins in your family are fraternal, spontaneous, and on your mom's side, then you have a greater chance of twins. Good luck

not just your mom's side, but in *your* family period. Fathers can pa__s down the hyperovulation gene to their children although they themselves will not have an influence on whether they sire twins or not.

My boyfriends dads brother has twins. And I have none on my side of the family. And I am pregnant with Twins. So I'd say the chances are pretty good!

Well, twinning occurs when either A: Mom releases more then one egg and both are fertilized ( fraternal twins), or B: By some fluke of nature moms one fertilized egg splits into two embryos.( identical) Dad has absolutely nothing to do with it other then to pa__s the gene on to his daughters so that they may hyperovulate and produce multiple eggs, if he was fraternal.
