that the women who post that they took u/p clomid and get pregnant with twins or triplets most often than not end up losing one very early in pregnancy. First there was Kim, then Angela W. (so sorry to hear), then Yas, then Lynn. Although in the last two there were supposedly just an empty sac where they thought there might be twins. Is there any connection at all to the u/p clomid? Is it because the clomid pushes out an extra egg that isn't fully formed?

could be....remember that p clomid takers get help with additional hormone injections and other medical supports..as clomid thins out the cervix as well and hence increases the chance of mc! however i think if you go well into the past...there is an equal number of women who conceive twins or triplets using u/p clomid and have had so far successful pregnancies...there is no 'real' statistics to prove the point that people taking u/p clomid loose their multiples any more than those that take it prescribed! and if an egg has not fully formed it would not survive or is strong enough or mature enough to be fertilised properly...you may produce more eggs have them fertilised but is the hormones in our bodies which may not be in abundance anough or strong enought to maintain a multiple pregnancy.....but this is only an a__sumption...nothing has been proven...

yas, you didn't mc did you? How is your pregnancy going? I have severe ms and its taking its toll on me. Take care!

oh no not yet...lol!!thanks to god i am fine i have extreme fatigue and nausea though...oh and to freak me out i had some brown spotting...in the last 3 days...but had u/s to tell me the baby is ok and my cervix is closed..nothing major...and that it is normal...but so far things seem to be going smoothly...my last mc was with a normal conception pregnancy so anything can happen...with or without clomid...i think in matters that concern nature...fate plays a very big part!!!things happen for a reason...god never gives us more even if we think we can handle it at the time...

Yas is not an expert on clomid - for example - not ALL women who take clomid get additional injections or hormones. I know MANY women who were strictly on clomid for PCOS and who NEVER received injectables.. including myself. So Yas, be a little more responsbile when dispensing your advice. .,,, Oh and to HMMMMM... yas did not have twins.. she diagnosed herself as having a vanishing twin - something that she posted that her doctor did not even say.

Does anyone know where and what happened with Kim on here. She was the one that was pregnant with Triplets , but lost one of them ... I was hoping that I would hear something new as in updates on her pregnancy and how she is doing now. It seems that a lot of ladies on here took to her and I am sure they too would want to know any updates on her well being .

to Hmmm... I try to convince these ladies that in their quest for multiples, they are doing more potential harm to their ovaries, etc. There are plenty of women who have taken clomid (prescribed) that concieved singletons. It is ironic.. and I hope that they wont suffer any personal medical issues as a result of using the u/p clomid (if it really was clomid that they were taking for all they know, they could have been sugar pills!!!

AND AGAIN MY QUESTION IS : Does anyone know where and what happened with Kim on here. She was the one that was pregnant with Triplets , but lost one of them ... Hmmm - January 10

I would take that as a no Maria.

Hmmm - January 10

Okay what was that all about? Gee if I asked a question and no one responded I would have taken that to mean that no one had an answer for me. Did you really expect someone to come on and type in "No".

?????? - January 10

just wondering if the ladies who take u/p clomid wants 1 baby are they not taking it for two what happens when its only one do they keep trying next time for two or are they happy with 1

Hmmm - January 10

Good question, they do say that they would be happy with one but it seems with all the trouble they did (researching, ordering the drug, taking the drug and dealing with the side effects) that I would a__sume that there is some disappointment that their plan didn't work. Remember a lot of them state in the beginning that they are fertile so just because they got pregnant on the drug doesn't mean that the drug even helped them along KWIM.

??????? - January 10

i took clomid for 1 month an i got twins but it was p and i would have been just as happy with 1 but i was blessed double and i love them both i had problems oing i tried without drugs for 2 yrs i think people who take it u/p just to get multiples should know what the rest of us who need it have gone through to get to where we r now and maybe they wouldnt keep putting all this stuff in their bodies without dr supervision

onetwothree - January 10

KIM??? Kim who?

Linda - January 10

I honestly don't know if it has anything to do with the clomid as I also see allot of IVF mums losing a twin, so many pgcies start out as twins, natural or otherwise and only one baby survives, it's just nature! I have been prescribed clomid for PCOS also and never had injections or other support either. Just think how many natural single pgcies are lost early, well with twins I guess there is double that risk so only 1 surviving is an unfortunate natural occurance.

Carrie - January 10

I think who Maria is referring to is the Kim in the July memos of this thread. I haven't seen anything since she lost one of her babies. Sorry . I think it is kind of you for asking about her though. I am sure the rest of us would appreciate the same consideration. Do any of you ladies know how real it is to think of b___stfeeding triplets? I am on my way to having three and would like to b___stfeed, but not sure if I am up to the challenge.

onetwothree - January 10

Maybe some women have bodies that just aren't made to handle a multiple pregnancy (nutrition, size, genetics, who knows) and when a multiple pregnancy is forced on these certain body types , nature takes over and makes sure there is just going to be one. I do know that about 1 out of 8 pregnancies start off as twins but only 3 percent of viable pregnancies are a multiple pregnancy. So the majority of twin pregnancies end up as VTS.
