i have a 2 year old daughter which i was given a baby shower for. i have many of her baby items and they are in great shape. i am now expecting twins. is it okay to have another shower. i know baby showers are supposed to be for celebrating the birth of another child and i want everyone to celebrate with me. is it okay to send invitations and tell people i am registered for items but that i would prefer they look at consignment and hand me downs before buying something. please let me know what people think. my husband and i plan on buying the furniture and bedding. so it is really feeding, and crae and safety items that we need and that i would be registering for.

We looked into the etiquette of this as well. My daughter was 2.5 when our twins were born and most places said that it was ok to have another shower b/c you are celebrating a new life. Now, what we did was had it at our house (hosted by our mothers) and combined a house warming (we had just purchased a new home) and shower/BBQ. We tried to make it low-key and not a lot of "baby" games, etc. My work also threw me a shower b/c we were expecting b/g twins and I had just the one girl already.
