I am so sorry to hear that you were so ill Yas. I truely hope you and your baby recover quickly from this. Hang in there and take it easy. Try not to stress too much about the possibility of a miscarriage, it will ony make things harder. If your Dr. thinks everything is okay it probably is. Take Care. I hope your are feeling well soon and have lots of good news about the little one(s) inside. My thought and prayers are with you.

Hi YAS2000.....My hopes and prayers are with you as well. I also had bleeding early on in my pregnancy. I spotted red blood for about an hour or so then it turned to a brownish color. This happened twice to me, once in my 6th week and then my 8th week. The doctor felt that it could be the placenta attaching itself to the uterine walls. Only speculation....doc did not know for sure. But the ultrasounds I had after each incident still confirmed a baby. I have found through other women on these posts that bleeding during first trimester is rather common. Good luck with your pregnancy YAS and I wish you all the best.

Yas, just so you know, if that one sac is a vanishing twin, sometimes there is bleeding and cramping. It isn't a common symptom, but it can happen. Usually the baby would silently vanish with no symptoms, but in my case, I gushed bright red blood for a little bit. Found out I lost a twin which I didn't even know I had. When they checked me, my cervix was also closed. If the spot were just a blood clot, it could be that, too

thank you everyone...just managed to get out of bed a bit...stomach still completely sore..but thanks god no bleeding and cramps...i really appreciate all the info you can give me...i guess it is a lesson learned..normally i can eat old food 9i.e next day left overs0 go to my father's land drink tap water and eat local produce i never really ever had food poisening on that scale before...but i think pregnancy just hightens your sensitivity....i made roast chicken in the oven and only picked on bits and peices...(without heating) as you know it can taste so good and normally we make cold cheicken sandwiches this way...however this just cuased me the worst food poisening ever!!!
i also agree it could be the other ac i saw..that was the first thought that occured to me...all i can do is wait and hope to see what is going to happen from now on...the OB told me to not worry and come in for my scan on the 4th if i have no further bleeding she is sure things are still intact....
if however i do i obviously have to go in and see whats happening..fingers crossed the rest of my holidays will go smoothly...if anyone else has some better news and good news, bfp's, ultrasounds etc please do let us know...i could do with some happy news and stories to cheer me up...lol

I'm not trying to scare you at all ... I promise, but are you aware at all of listeria? In Australia it is a major thing for pregnant women. It is a food poisoning type of bug that can cross the placenta and affect the baby. We are encouraged not to eat cold leftovers especially chicken, if you do they need to be reheated to quite a high temp to kill the bacteria. It is also present in unpasturised dairy products, soft cheeses and soft serve ice cream. We have such a big thing about it here, that some people call it lysteria-hysteria. I think you may even be able to be tested if you think you have been exposed (not sure though). I really hope this isnt the case for you, that it was just straight food poisoning. I just thought I would let you know for future reference :-)

hi everyone,
well...am feeling much better today..am on a course of antibiotics..and no bleeding since that first incident...i had food poisening...i don't know if it was listeria..but i had no fever, and i vomited the very first day..whihc is supposed be a good thing...i had a swollen abdomen until yesterday...but today its all calmed down...i have developed a very strong flu...so i was told i had gastric flu, or gastorneteritis...there is not much i can do about what happened but to hope for the best....i have a scan on the 4th..should know how my preganncy is doing...
my whole body is stiff, and my stomach muscles are very very sore inside...but i am walking about and more or less back to normal..however the flu is quite strong so all my sinuses are blocked up and have a headache and my shoulders neck and back are all quite stiff...
anyway...all i can do is wait and see...i appreciate all your info..and would love to know how everyone else is doing....see you guys tommorrow...

Hi YAS.....I am glad you are doing better. Thanks for the information regarding cold foods. I am so guilty of just grabbing foods out of the refrigerator and eating it without heating it up. I will no longer do that !!! Well I hope you get through the flu quickly. I have been rather lucky through my pregnancy to not have gotten sick....I am usually catching everything....I think the prenatal pills may have helped. I am actually in my 37th week of pregnancy with twins. I am soon to deliver in my 39th week. My main complaint has been the discomfort of having to carry twins but I am almost there. Well good luck Yas and I will pray that your ultrasound goes well on the 4th.

Here you go yas, mine too was a lighter colour and close to the 'real' sack. I just have to wonder if the main sack is sort of covering/squishing and putting a shadow on what may be a second sack. The tech said straight away it was a blood area so I didn't take any more notice of it. But when someone pointed out something in it (have circled it) now it has me wondering here is the link, take out the -'s as usual...lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v500/laneylin/whatsthis.jpg

hi linda,
to be honest your picture seems to have so many dark areas...so i cannot tell properly...but your right, it looks like another one behind the first with something in it......but i hope your next scan in jan will give you a clearer picture of what is goin on...
in my scan the area around the sac was quite light grey, white...and then you could see a obergene shaped sac..nothing inside...right next to it you could see a lighter spherical shape....coming and going as she kept moving around...what i found intreguing was that it was in the same place each time....hence our suspicion...however we will see in jan..when is your scan...mine is on the 4th..good luck...and please keep us updated.....you know the best time in think in early pregnancy is the speculation of twins or more..and then eventually the s_x of the baby!!!

HI EVERYONE.....MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL....
WELL ITS A GREAT DAY TODAY FOR ME AS I HAVE FINALLY BEEN ABLE TO SEE MY LITTLE PEANUT!!!LOL....YEP...I HAVE ONE LITTLE BABY INSIDE..THE OTHER SAC HAS VANISHED...AND AM NOW MEASURING 6W4D...AND A STRONG HEARTBEAT.....I WAS OVER THE MOON...THE PAIN IN MY UTEROUS IS STILL THERE AND I WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO MY PREVIOUS BIRTHS OF LARGE BABIES..I HAVE A TILTED UTEROUS WHICH IS TOUCHING MY PELVIC BONE IN AN AWKWARD WAY AND HENCE THE CONSTANT PAIN...AS THE BABY AND UTEROUS GROW THE PAIN SHOULD CEASE AS IT WILL RISE HIGHER ABOVE MY PUBIC BONE AND RELEASE THE PRESURE..PROBABLY ONLY TO RETRUN NEAR LABOUR!!!!OH DEAR!!!
THE STOMACH FLU DIDN'T HELP THE SITUATION OBVIOUSLY AS IT PUSEHD ONTO THE UTEROUS...
I AM SO GLAD THAT I AM NORMAL....AND THE BABY IS FINE....I WISH EVERYONE ON HERE A SUCCESSFUL AND UNEVENTFUL PREGNANCY...AND THANK ALL THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN HERE TO PROVIDE ME WITH POSTIVE SUPPORT LIKE I ALWAYS SAY WE CAN TRY AND DO THINGS TO ALLOW FOR DREAMS TO COME TRUE BUT IT IS GOD WHO ULTIMATELY DECIDES OUR FAITH.....
AND I ALWAYS HAVE BEEN POSITIVE IN WHETHER OR NOT I HAVE MORE THAN ONE BABY SO LONG THEY/HIM/HER ARE HEALTHY THAT IS WHAT COUNTS....AND NOTHING ELSE......THATS THE ULTIMATE BLESSING....
AND ITS PROOF THAT CLOMID ALTHOUGH INCREASING THE CHANCES ITS NOT THATS SIGNIFICANT.....I AM FERTILE AND NORMAL NEVER HAD A PROBLEM TO CONCEIVE AND TOOK 100MG OF CLOMID 3 ROUNDS AND STILL ENDED WITH A SINGLETON...SO GO FIGURE..THE HOO HAAA AROUND THE CLOMID ISSUE IS TOTALLY UNNESESSARY.
LOVE YOU ALL AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BABIES!!!!AM NOW OF TO THE FIRST TRIMESTER BOARD!!!!BYEEEEEEEEEE

Yas - you think that maybe the clomid you took wasn't really clomid???? I dont think that we are against you using clomid its the UNPRESCRIBED part for multiples. I used clomid and my first pregnancy w/clomid was w/a singleton. So God Bless you and your healthy baby but I have to laugh because all of this advice that you are dishing out about what days to take clomid to increase multiples has proven to be a load of c___p.
