Is it normal to have an overly fast heartrate during pregnancy. I'm 13 weeks pg with twins and it seems like my heart races a lot lately and I get out of breath just sitting down. Going to talk to the doc at my next appt. but just wanted opinions now.

I am 10 weeks pregnant with twins and having the same problem. I thought it was just from geting fat (the only time i am not puking all day is if i am eating..gained 18 pounds of FAT!!) but spoke to my DR about it and she said its all the progesterone in my body....much more than a single baby. If i get up to go the bathroom....i feel like i just ran a marathon. and i see and can feel my heartbeat throughout my whole body, especially MY heartrate in my stomach...my ENTIRE stomach moves each time my heart beats....its kind of embarra__sing :)

I am 18 week pregnant with twins and I was having the same problem I asked my ob and he said that it is completley normal due to the pressure of the babies they are taking up space in there therefore your lungs don't have the same amount of room, so it is normal and will most likely be that way throughout your entire pregnancy. It is really irritating though I sometimes cannot fall asleep because I feel as though I just ran a marathon. Good luck.

from past experience everything just works double time. your heart, your muscles everything. you feel tired most of the time and out of breath from just doing the simplest things e.g. like talking . wish there was something that we all can do anout that, we try our best. hang in there!!! :)

Absolutely! My resting heartrate was about 92bpm when it is normally under 60bpm!! I was really worried early on but it didn't get any worse. Remember too, that with twins you end up pushing 50% EXTRA blood around your body, so it makes sense that your heart has to beat harder and more often. Take care :-)
