ataylor0901: Hey, just checking in and seeing where you are on this cycle? I am CD12, took SI and Clomid again this month.....just waiting to O. Last month I O'd on CD16 so I a__sume I will be right around there again. All day yesterday I was in a lot of pain on both Ovaries....I was thinking I was O'ing but my temp this morning says I ddnt and my b___bs dnt hurt (they always hurt the day after) Maybe I have a lot more activity on the ovaries this month. lots and lots of baby dust!!!!

Yes my opinion on it is that it will at the very least act like an aid to the clomid. But like I said it must be taken in a double dose to your clomid dose, no less, that's the word around town about it. So say if you were doing clomid 50mg you would need to do at least 100mg of SI to make it work. Of course, you can and sometimes should start with a lower dose and work your way up because of any symptoms. Taking SI may result in diarrhea and upset stomach so that is something to think about.

I've found you have to take a higher dosage of SI for it to be effective. Usually around the 200 mg but I've heard a few women say that mid 100's have worked. You take the SI on the same days you would take Clomid with CD3-7 or 5-9 getting the best results for most women. Definitely do your research and make sure you're comfortable with what your taking. When I first began I did not do enough research and started with a low dosage of SI the week before my AF showed. Needless to say, no ovulation. This time I took 200 mg of SI CD3-7 and 5-9 and ovulated on CD12! Good luck!

Mrs NK, I'm on CD22....I think we missed out on getting pregnant this month because my husband had to work some overtime and I just don't feel pregnant. I didn't realize I would O so quickly but if I'm not we're going to try again...I'm hoping my AF doesn't show but I think it will...God knows whats best so I'll keep praying and doing the SI. That would be great if you had alot of activity on your ovaries, more chances of conceiving! Let me know!

Quoted from ataylor0901: "This time I took 200 mg of SI CD3-7 and 5-9 and ovulated on CD12!" Do you mean to say you took SI twice that cycle? Did you try clomid or were you on SI alone?

ataylor0901 - May 31

mum, yes I took 200mg of SI at 6am CD3 and 4 and took an additional 200mg SI at 6m CD5,6,and 7 and then just once a day at 6am CD 8 and 9. I was just on SI alone.

The times I took the SI were 6am and 6pm. Sorry about the typo.

Gotcha. That's great that you're doing this all natural! Wish I had it in me to just trust the SI and forget about the Clomid (all the health risks). But ah well, I've already bought mine and I plan on using it! ;)

I was just going to do the ca__sava root but when I discovered you have to take it for about 2 years before you see results, I decided on the soy.

Are you going to do the lomid by itself or the si/clomid combo?

If your talking about me ataylor (not sure) then I will be doing si+clomid. 50mg clomid and probably 200mg SI(going by what you wrote about small doses being relatively ineffective)

mumtazg38f: I was originally on just 50mg clomid cd3-7. My dr said I did O but that it was very very low....2.6 was my 21 day progesterone test. So my 2nd month I did 200mg SI CD3-7 and 50mg Clomid CD5-9. My progesterone levels went way up....11.1! So I think you are making the right decision by taking more.

Thank you so much MrsNK for the info. That is exactly what I needed right now. Something good to hear for once. ;) I've been really excited to start TTC already and have been researching and preparing and doing so much to prepare lately, just want it so bad you know. I don't know if I have or don't have any reproductive issues, all i know is that my AF is pretty late and quite unpredictable. I haven't had an AF before 30 days in the longest time now. I haven't charted it in the pa__sed 6 months to be more than 42 days either. So it's always somewhere in between. Don't know if it has always been this way, but seems so. I am thinking maybe when I do start TTC if problems arise what will I do, as I do not have any insurance, and no medicaid nothing. Maybe I'm depressed lately cause of mood swings or something. It is CD 30 today so should start soon, have been crampy for a good week now here and there except for the last 2 days, and am crampy again today. Maybe that's why I'm feeling so down about TTC at the moment...

Oh, and maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have to go to Michigan (sisters graduation) on the 8th and am so sad I will not be able to start right away TTC. I will have missed my O (no matter how long my LP is) by the time I get back. So cycle wasted! Maybe thats it.... :'(
