I was just wondering if the possibility of conceiving twins increases if you get pregnant right after stopping the pill. I stopped taking the pill in Sept and got a positive pregnanct test on Oct 9th. I didn't have any real peroid, just waht I thought was withdrawl bleeding, so I have no real idea when I got pregnant. On the 18th my hcg was 7390, I am guessing I was anywhere from 20-24 dpo. Also this is pregnancy #6 for me so sometimes I just wonder about the possibility of it being 2, (especially sing my grandmother had twins). I don't see a doctor for another week so I was just wondering what you might think. Thanks

There is a higher likelyhood of having twins the first menstration after stopping the bith control pill, although I am having some difficulty finding a number to determine just how much more likely it is. After having been essentially "closed for business" for several months or even years your ovaries may both release an egg when the pill is stopped and your ovaries try to get back on track. Hope this helps and best of luck to you.

I was on the pill from 21 years old to 35 years old. I stopped taking in after my last period in October and by December 3rd I was a few weeks pregnant with TWINS. This is my first pregnancy and I heard that being 35 and getting off the pill increased my odds, not to mention my mother was pregnant with twins and lost one.
