freebird, I was not planning on using Clomid to increase the chances as I am not sure I am comfortable with the thought of using a presription drug without the prescription. I know that a multiple pregnancy would not be easy but I really don't care how hard it is. I am trying to increase my chances naturally by taking Folate and Calcium tablets as well as using herbal medicines. I know that it would not be easy but people do it. There is alot of advice and very happy women here who are infact pregnant or looking at conceiving multiples. A child is a wonderful thing single or multiple! Baby dust to you all! :-)

anabelr - Don't give up hope. There are other ways you can become pregnant rather than on Clomid. Have you tired herbal/ natural medicine. Chinese Medicines are supposed to be really good and herbs have a wonderful way of helping. Try things like red raspberry leaf and chaste tree berry are most used (by the lady) along with green tea, nettle leaf, ladies mantle and evening primrose these are all supposed to help. Good Luck to you!! Don't give up it will happen!

anabelr - You m ight want to consider seeing a reproductive endocrinologist rather than an obgyn. They specialize in fertility issues and are much more active in finding the cause for IF than OB's tend to be. Dh and I went straight to one after being referred by his urologist who found male factor issues for us. We became pregnant within 6 months of beginning treatment after trying for 3 years on our own. Good luck to you!

I am not encouraging anyone to use drugs for anything. But when I am ready to have children I will try Clomid becuz I would like to try for twins. to yetanothertripletmom and freebird my apologize for your problems with birth and your children but dont go charging at people who want to try for twins. What are you saying that if you werent supposed to have twins dont try....you cant say that cuz if thats the case then those who can have children should try right. Nope thats not how its supposed to be ladies if that for you arm yourself wit lots and lots of knowledge. be prepared for the prons and cons. let a Dr know whats going. but I will never tell a women NO dont do it. I will just try and help inform. her. But dont make anyone feel bad about trying to Concive twins. Ladies the knowledge is out there get yourself informed. Know what you are doing before you jump in head first. Know about TTTS,deformities and preemies. Yes there are bad things that can happen. But sometimes there are very BEAUTIFUL results as well. be informed I cant stress that enough! Thank you. I am doing my homework! I am also looking into herbalist. keeping all options open!!!

Hi ladies, hope you are all well, i too would like to start taking clomid, hopefully for twins, Not so long ago i was pregnant with identical twins boys without the help of medication, but lost them at 16+weeks due to chorioamnionitis, (infection in the placenta) don't ask me how i'm still at a loss.....I was told that my chances now of concieving twins was very low...I would like to at least try once again to carry such a blessing, unfortunately my gyno doesn't want to give it to me, i have also tried ordering online but was stopped at Australian customs...and if i want to retrieve them i would have to go through alot of ha__sel, if anyone could please tell me how i could get my hands on clomid, without having to order outside of Australia..or if anyone in australia has any left over clomid they no longer take, i will be happy to take it, maybe we could make some arrangements plsssssssssssssss .......Baby Dust to you all...

Hi everyone, I am from Arizona.I just found out I am PREGNANT. YIPPPPEEEE! I am so excited and nervous as I'm sure you all understand. This was my first time taking prescribed clomid for ovulation. I was taking it days 5-9 at 50mg. I had to ditch my last doc so I don't have an apt scheduled until Jan. I pray that everything will go good. Keep up that hard work and baby dust to all. Tanya

Shonee, we will continue to discourage people on this site from taking unprescribed fertility drugs for the sole purpose of conceiving multiples. A woman can be as informed as she wants but that does not mean she has any business deciding how to administer prescription medications of any kind (even to herself). You need a medical degree for that. If people can come on this site to encourage the use of u/p meds then we have the right to discourage it to anyone who may be on the fence. It's a dangerous practice and though many people are well informed, there are lots of people who are NOT and are desperate enough to listen to the reckless advice of people on te Internet who say "Well, it worked for me!" If everyone else jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge would you do it too?

I started taking clomid serveral years ago in 2000. I live in Texas. Well I had a child already but had gone through a divorce & wanted more kids with the new husband. Nothing. I tried off and on with the Clomid for many years with no luck. We then went to a specialist who confirmed my new husband needed a few surgeries to help. He got those done & rechecked and late 2003 they said we could try again, nothing. In 2005 I tried clomid yet again. 100 mg/day x 5 days. I ended up getting cysts on my right ovary only. (we apparently had a lot of stress going on at the same time in our life). We decided once again to wait. Things got real laid back for us and I went to the doctor in June of 2006. I started clomid with PRE NATAL vitamins (apparently if you aren't getting proper nutrition this can be a factor). I was to start my second round of clomid in July but I skipped a period. I took a test and I was FINALLY pregnant. I am due March 26 2007, I have had early bleeding at 6 weeks with everything ok, I have had a scare because I am RH negative blood & my husband is RH positive, and I still have a cyst on my right ovary and it does cause extra pain every now and then.

I live in Michigan, and I started taking Clomid in October, only one pill on days 2-6 of period, and still was unable to ovulate or have a period on my own. Then they had me take 2 pills on days 2-6 in January and I ovulated on day 15, and I am now pregnant with twins!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!! I never had any problems with the Clomid, but the Provera (which makes your period come) really game me hot flashes.

I started clomid yesterday, my Dh and I are very concerned with mulitiple births...Congrats to all who have success stories with twins or more but we already have one child and would be sooo happy if we only had one more. At the risk of all of that sounding harsh, i am noticing it seems the earlier you start clomid in your cycle the higher your chances of mulitple births. i am taking 5-9. does anyone know if this is true, or is it all conincidence. Twins run in both sides of my family and I understand the difficulites as well as the blessing!!!

I plan to start Unprescribed Gonal-f, Clomid, HCG and Prometrium in June. I've been doing some research and reading on all of the above for nearly 2 years now so I am armed with all kinds of useful information. I will be trying for at least 1 girl and twins would be a bonus. I already have all of my meds (I plan to try for 4 months on meds).

M. Josie - March 22
