Hi, I am 8 wks 4 days pg.....this is my 3rd pregnancy, during this pregnancy I have been extremely fatigued (cant drag myself out of bed). I am just wondering what my chances are of having twins? my mother has been pregnant with 2 sets of frateral twins, she had her first when she was 25 and then lost twins when she was 39 and both pregnancys were unaided, does this increase my chances??? My mum seems to think I am having twins....dont know why she just says she has a feeling...lol...as for all my other symptoms, they were all there from 5dpo.....got a bfp on 10dpo..I have my first u/s on monday 16th, I cant wait to hear h/b as I had a m/s in june this year......did you know you were having twins before the u/s...how did you know?
A funny~ when I was pg with first baby, mum rang one of those people that reckon they can tell your future, hers tolde her that one of her daughters would become pregnant in a month with a baby boy, and then low and behold I found out i was pregnant 1 month later then it was even funnier when we found out I was having a boy, mum rang them again, this time and they said one of her daughters would be having twins in may or june next year, and none of my other sisters are pregnant ....LOL......Well I guess I will know on monday either way...I am just praying for one healthy baby

Your mom having twins definitely increases your chances! And I've also read chances of multiples increase with each pregnancy and each increment of increase in age. I've also notice on these boards that many of the women who are pregnant with twins have recently had a miscarriage. Besides - there's something to be said about mother's intuition!

Yes, your mother concieving twins does up your chance of having twins. I had a feeling before my 8 week u/s that it was twins (I was right, but still floored!). I also had a m/c 6 weeks before concieving my twins. Oh, I did get a BFP at 9 dpo for both my singleton and twin pregnancies. For the baby we lost, I didn't get a bfp until I was due for my period. Good luck and let us know the outcome on Monday.
