I only have twins, but I know that they give you the due date of a normal pregnancy even though it varies with multiples. I carried my twins 38 weeks. My OB said that my height 5-8 and the fact that I have a long waist were a factor for carrying them so long.

During your pregnancy you will always use your real "due date" even though you will not possibly make that date. Your height and weight certainly helps you maintain your pregnancy but it isn't the most important factor. Please get the book on multiple pregnancies by Dr. Luke. You might also want to visit www.tripletconnection.org . It's a great site for triplet moms. I a__sume you had your u/s with a perinatologist? If not, PLEASE find a perinatologist with a lot of experience in high order multiple births. The right doctor can make all the difference with your babies. I carried my triplets to 32w2d. Good luck!

Congrats!!! I also recommend the tripletconnection as a good source of all things HOM related. I too am a smaller woman average height and slim and I delivered them at 32 weeks and they were great weights and only spent 2 weeks in the hospital. I think that what is considered "full term" for the average triplet pregnancy is 34-35 weeks, but have read of moms going to 36+ weeks. Good luck!!! Oh, and I do second the GOOD doctor post. Although I saw a perinatologist once and my regular OB saw me through my entire pregnancy wonderfully.

They have me really affraid now. I saw the perinatologist yesterday, and everything she discussed with me was mostly negative things that could happen, i kno its her job to warn me about what could happen, but im so affraid now. She did tell me that 2 of them ARE identicle, they aree separated but they share a placenta, and something that could happen with them is twin twin syndrome, and she also told me that if one of the identicles happens to not make it for some reason, the other one will be handicap or have problems, im so affraid, i have to gain 50 pounds im almost 12 weeks and still havent gained one no matter what i eat, so im seeing a nutritionist and hopefully that helps! does anyone know if how much weight i gain can help to carry them longer so they can have a better chance of being healthy and not too too small? please help im so paranoid now, i finally know whats its like to be a mother now! im praying everything goes well! please do the same for me!

You dont HAVE to gain 50 lbs. You just HAVE to eat healthy and drink plenty of H20 to keep you hydrated. Not gaining weight in the first trimester is common. In the 2nd/3rd you will gain the weight. Make sure you get enough protein, iron, folic acid, calcium. I didn't eat ALOT, I gained 40ish lbs and my kids were all close to 5 lbs at 32 weeks.

No, mine are all fraternal so I really dont know about the issues your peri was referring to. I dont want to tell you that gaining 40 lbs will ensure that you will have big babies. I had a friend who gained 80 lbs w/ a singleton and her baby was born at only 6 lbs. I think that my babies weight was partly due to genetics (both my husband & I were big babies we each were just under 9 lbs), and also the fact that I ate really healthy. I really didnt snack much and when I did I snacked on cherry tomatoes, peanuts, dried fruit and meat. Good luck to you. Worrying comes w/the territory unfortunately because you know of all the things that COULD go wrong. Just do whatever you can to relax, take care of yourself and make sure you are followed by a good doctor. The rest is in the hands of the Allmighty.
