Your HCG Levels In Early Pregnancy

HI Ladies! I think this is the best place to ask my question since everyone here is supposed to be pregnant with multiples. Well, I am 5 weeks 2 days pregnant today. My first HCG at 13 dpo was 246; my second at 22 dpo (5wks 1day) was 18,000! My dad is from fraternal twins, and there other sets of fraternal twins on his side. I am interested in what your HCG levels were in early pregnancy. I am also worried about other things, like molar pregnancy, etc., so looking for some reassurance too. Thanks.

Your levels are doubling every 34+ hours which is good. Some double every 24, some 48 and some 72. Your HCG levels are extremely high for 22 DPO, even for twins, but even a couple days off your chart can make a difference. Your dad having fraternal twins on his side makes your chance higher for having twins. Keep us posted!

Thanks for responding, samehere. I've been actually driving myself crazy with this number. My doctor's office called to report this number, but when I said that it seems high, the doctor's a__sistant replied that the doctor was not concerned, but that she'll leave a message with him to call me if he can. Well, I've sort of restless the whole day. I just pray that everything is fine...

Honestly, I have seen extremely high numbers that were quadrupling every 48 hours and those ladies ended up with singletons. I have also seen several ladies that have very low HCG levels and end up with triplets. I know what you mean about the molar and all the other worries that high HCG levels can be caused from. When I took my HPT, I got a very dark like 5 days before the test should have been taken. I started thinking about all the bad things and ended up with twins. Most of the time though, high HCG levels mean nothing at all and everything is fine.

LanaK- Fraternal twins are only hereditary when its pa__sed down from your MOTHER, not your father.

mommy2, I have heard various versons - that it is pa__sed on from the mothers side, father's side, skips generations, etc. In my family, it looks like it's pa__sed on from the father's side - my cousin had fraternal twins, and her aunt and uncle on her father's side are twins. Her own father is not even a twin.

hi, my hcg at 16 dpo was 440. Does this sound like it could be twins? The doctor said it should be at least 100, preferably 150, but this is way higher than that.

15 dpo = 1450 and 17 dpo = 2880 As you've probably heard, hcg #'s can vary so much that it's very difficult to determine anything by just #'s.

Just thought I would give you information on what HCG levels should be at 5 weeks - 18 to 7340. So 18,000 is a little high, but is it possible that you might be further along then you think?? Just a thought. If the Dr. isn't worried, then I wouldn't worry.
