Placenta Attachment

Hello - January 21

Does anyone know anything about the placenta not attaching properly to the wall, leading to the thinning of the umbillical cord, which then leads to a fetus starving to death in utero. Please help me

I replied to your post on another thread, and when I saw your message here I wanted to help so I searched for clues, but there are no easy-to-find articles on the internet unfortunately. It might help if you go to http://bbs.babycenter.com/board/pregnancy/pregcomplications/1232290 and start a thread. That part of babycenter community is about placenta problems, so someone must know something. The thing is, there are references all over miscarriage articles saying that an improperly attached placenta can cause miscarriage, but nothing that provides any real information on the subject. I wish I could be more help to you, but I hope the link I gave you is of some use. And please don't think of him 'starving to death' - he simply wasn't getting enough nutrients to help him grow, but that doesn't mean he actually suffered, he wouldn't have had the cramps that you or I might get if we were starving for example. I know it isn't any help, but it was probably a very peaceful death, and as someone said to me, an unborn baby can feel the love of his mother from a week or two after conception, so he would have been a happy little chap, swimming and playing gently in his personal swimming pool, just like my son was.
