Why can you get grants/loans to send your kid to college and you can't get the same to send your kid to day care? I work at a university. The amount of money I pay for day care for one infant per month is almost exactly the same as one monthly payment of tuition and fees for a 4-year state university. And, I also am paying for a preschooler. I want Financial Aid!

your kid in daycare is "optional" whereas going to college and taking out student loans is BIG business and today's version of indentured servitude for most.

to mom42, some states offer financial a__sistance towards child care. But you may want to check your state childcare options. Depending on what you make, it may be available.

Where do you live? I will be recieving gov't funding for child care. Most states do have a program if you qualify.

I live in Ma__sachusetts. They do have a program that helps with day care. The only problems is that you actually have to be working at the time, I tried to get it when I was starting a job within a week and they told me no, and there is over a year wait to get approved and find a place. The cheapest, without a__sistance was a lady that provided day care at her house, for $35 a day. It doesnt sound like much but when its added up, it really is.
