Praizeleeder222: I was wondering how long its been since you filed a complaint with the EEOC and if you've heard anything back yet. If the EEOC didn't think you had a good case, they would have dismissed it and given you a letter of right to sue. I think you should, at least, agree to consiliation, though. You don't have to hire an attorney in order to do this and you don't have to accept any offers of settlement that you don't feel are fair, but if you ever get to the point where you feel like you'd rather have an attorney represent you, instead of the EEOC, you should not have a problem finding one who will take your case on contingency. Usually, attorneys will ask for 30% if the matter settles out of court before filing a lawsuit and 40% once a lawsuit has already been filed, whether it settles or actually does end up going before a jury. You can go to legalmatch.com to find an attorney, but stay away from any attorneys who want to charge you any upfront fees. I have an attorney lined up in the event that I need one, but am first going to try and let the EEOC resolve my case, because I can afford to settle for a lot less if I'm not having to pay an attorney. They are not allowed to fire you for being pregnant how long have you been working there? employ rights and you have them. file a complaint with the company or someone higher then them

the same thing happened to me. i have been having alot of issues with being sick. Vomiting, fevers, weakness, dizziness, etc. I was running over 101fever and throwing up and i called in sick and my boss gave me the same c___p about unpaid leave of absensce. bull c___p. Would she had rather me be around the kids i worked with running a fever and vomiting or taking a day off to get medicne and rest? Another thing, not to gloat, but i was her best and hardest working employee, so i am hoping that she is paying for what she did becuse now we have hardly any money and no insurance...im on medicade, which is c___p. so yea, i feel you. good luck.

i would check if you have a lawsuit, they can't discriminate on u b/c your pregnant. how long have you had this job.

I know it is discrimination. I have started an investigation through the EEOC. Its just as well at the moment I am not working... the baby is having many complications. and I am very tired alot! Its kind of a blessing in disguise! NOt saying that is is fair that they did it. They say that was policy and they would have done it to anyone else! I am praying everyday that no one else gets treaated this way there. There were several other women who were pregnant but w/o restrictions so they are safe for the time being. They said no special treatment for the pregnant ones. How sad that we have to be treated that way, by several other women, who are mothers!!! Its amazing how they can sleep.

You definitely have a case and I would get on EEOC to give you feedback on how the case is going. It is against the law for them to terminate you they are supposed to find something else for you to do. Check out...www.eeoc.gov

According to the letter I just received they were found 'not guilty' they worked within the guidelines of their policies... blah blah blah... a bunch of hookey to me. so... so much for trying to get them to do the right thing.

Yea my job basically told me that when my doctor put me on the 20lb lifting limit that they do not offer a such thing as light duty for those that are hurt off the job. They only offer light duty for those that are hurt on the job. They said I could not come back to work until I had a doctors note that said no restrictions. So thats what I had to do in order to keep my job. I only have 3 more months left and then I will go back after my 12 weeks of FMLA for only two weeks (so I dont have to pay back the short term disablity for 6 weeks) and then I will quit. No job that treats me the way this place has treated me (during my pregnancy) deserves my hardwork! My boss is a lesbian and has no kids and is not very supportive at all!

That's exactly what I was told also... no light duty b/c I was not hurt on the job! My dr wouldn't change my restrictions b/c I'm high-risk. I had just started in Sept. so I didn't qualify for FMLA.

Wow, thats bull if I ever heard any. I'm sorry they did that to you. Being pregnant is temporary, would they have fired you if you broke an arm or leg and couldn't lift any weight for so long? I wish you the best and sorry for that happening thats crazy.
