I'm in the same boat as you my dear, only I have wednesdays off and so I don't take lunches on the other days so that I can keep taking my wednesdays off. Do you live on the East Coast? I do - and it's incredibly hard to survive on one salary.

I can totally relate to what you're saying! I work part time at the local radio sation as an announcer and two weeks ago i was offered a full time monday to friday midday position. I took it even though our son was only 7 weeks old i couldn't afford to pa__s up this opportunity for advancement. now since they are making a bunch of changes in the company I am working 7 days a week for the next few weeks and find it so hard to be away from my little guy so much!! I don't want to cook or clean just hold him and play with him when i get home! And my daughter who's 7, is really missing her weekends with mommy!! I want to help out at the station but i need time for my family too! what to do?

I too, am missing my little girl. I recently went back to work the day she turned 12 weeks. When I got home that first night, I was totally exhausted (my baby still does not sleep through the night). I feel that I will just have to adjust. Last night was the first time she slept through the night so I am hoping that will continue so that when I get home at night, I am not wiped out and I can spend more quality time with her. Working outside the home is incredibly difficult for any mother. It is having two full time jobs. I say, cherish the weekends. Why is the baby with your mom on weekends? I understand cleaning on your days off, but try to do some of the cleaning at other times. I try to get laundry done during the week, I'll take 15 or so minutes to dust another day, the next day I'll vaccuum or clean the bedroom etc. Spread out cleaning chores so your whole day off is not consumed with housework.

Also, not every meal needs to be a home cooked feast. As long as baby is eating healthy, then maybe you could stock up on frozen entrees for the time being. They are a great time saver and they have a lot of healthy choices as well. Soup and a cheese is a favorite quickie in my house as well. Have tuna salad in the fridge ready for fast sandwiches. Just try to cut corners where you can in order to spend time with the little guy.
