I am 18 and sometimes i feel like i cant wait to have the baby and then other times i feel like i wont know what to do...does that make me a bad mother???

For most women motherly instinct comes natural. You will not always know what to do and as your baby gets older you will make mistakes with it. Fear of not knowing what to do does not make you a bad mother. None of us will always know what to do. Just love your child and take care of it and you are a good mother.

Well let me tell you this. I got pregnant with my first baby when I was 18. When she was born I was I had no clue what to do. I felt pretty much the same as you are describing. As much as I wanted my little girl, I was scared to death that I wouldn't do something right and I would hurt her. The first few weeks I felt SOOO overwhelmed and thought I was going to lose my mind. I mean just knowing that this little person depended completely on me. It would be so much easier if babies came with owner's manuals but they don't. My little girl is now a happy, healthy 11 year old and I am currently pregnant with my third baby. All you really need to know, yes raising kids is hard but it can also be the most joyful time in your life. Do you have a mother in your life that you can go to? If not, find a support group, talk to your doctor or the baby's doctor. They will help you with any fears or questions you may have. Just remember what I said, you may not always know what to do. There may be times you want to just sit down in a corner somewhere and cry, it's ok to do that, but in the end remember your baby is counting on you, give him/her lots of TLC, hugs and kisses. It'll all work out in the end. When is your baby due? Use this pregnancy time to read up on parenting or take a parenting cla__s. Those can be very good for you and the baby. Good luck to you. Just don't get to overwhelmed. If you need to, stop and take a breather. It is ok to take time for yourself.
