I've seen a lot of questions from young teens who are hoping to get pregnant, and just wanted to post some useful websites so that you can investigate the facts. I don't want to start an argument by listing information about the risks of adolescent pregnancy (physical and mental, both for mother and baby), but thought you might all be willing to look into this yourself. http://www.soc.ucsb.edu/s_xinfo/?article=pregnancy&refid=002 (copy and paste address into your browser, delete any unnecessary dashes) is very useful. Another useful website is http://www.womenshealthchannel.com/teenpregnancy/index.shtml. I hope that some of you find this useful. xx

Jellybean, that is awsome. We learned in my microbiology cla__s that teens are far more likely to get AIDS, herpes, genital warts, and really any STD than are older women due to their immature hormone balances, ph and normal flora in the v____a. Women are more likely to get STDs if they have intercourse during menstuation, and if they are taking oral contraceptives. Also, adolescents tend to be less informed about things like Group B Strep and the effects of STDs on babies during pregnancy and the birthing process. Information is good for women of all ages. Thanks for the heads-up!

JELLYBEAN: This is very good that you posted those sites here. I agree that educating yourself is vital! However I bet you'll get a bunch of negative responses from the younger set here. But you've done a good thing.

I don't see why she would get negative comments from the "younger set". There is no reason for negative comments from anyone, this is useful information. Everyone should know the risks.
