Hi, just wondering if you ladies have had any luck with different positions besides missionary in your efforts to conceive. I'm not trying to do anything too fancy, I just want to know if there are positions that can actually make conception difficult. My partner and I are both 31 and we are trying to have a baby. We are in a good place financially, and have a nice house, medical insurance etc... We feel ready! I will be 32 soon and I was also wondering if any of you feel that I am entering a high risk situation? NOTE TO TEENAGERS: I know you guys seem to dominate this section of the forum, but I am really not looking for your advice. I need the advice of mature women who are not looking to argue and who have some knowledge and ideas. Thanks.

I've read that it is best to have intercourse missionary style when trying to conceive. I also read that after intercourse, you should stay laying down on your back with your b___t on a pillow to elevate yourself and help direct the s____n. But do not over-do this. For instance, do not elevate too much as this can have the s____n reaching the back of your cervix, and that is not where you want it. I don't think there is any position that would make getting pregnant impossible, but I think with woman on top, it might not help either! Good luck to you!

Why exclude teens from giving advice? We have ideas and knowledge too.

Again, no teens please. This is the last time I will address a minor in my posting.

I understand your situation. Taking the advice from Robin is your best bet, I believe. I conceived my second child in that manner. I am 30 and trying to conceive number three. Please note, I think some of the young girls that post items on this site are crude and need to think about how they appear to others who are reading for actual input. I am a high school teacher and am around a lot all day long, but at the same time, these postings can be and are disgusting at times!

Missy, how long have you been trying to conceive? If it's over a year you might want to see a doctor. Becoming aware of your fertility cycle is the first step to pregnancy. Ovulation and pregnancy go hand in hand. Implantation during ovulation leads to a pregnancy. The best time to conceive is during ovulation or the 1-2 days prior to it. Please use this website to educate yourself about this stuff and that will help you a lot. There are products out there (a Basal Body Thermometer BBT is a good one) Or, you can simply download an ovulation calendar onto your PC. Good Luck!

Venus DiMilo, I have only just begun trying to conceive. My cycles are usually about 30 days. I took an ovulation test starting on day 12 and got a positive on day 18 and 19.

I just suggest to relax and try not worry and stress too much on getting pregnant at first, stress can do nasty things to your body and all your horomones. After a considerable amount of time has gone by then begin to seek medical help.

I was so worried that I wasn't going to be able to conceive. I spent hours looking up the best positions and time of day and everything that could help me. Then the first time that my husband and I had unprotected s_x I was pregnant. All those hours of research were for nothing. So I agree with Kinberly. just relax and make love, you'll become pregnant when the time is right. And If a year goes by, then there's always in vitro or other options. Just don't stress right now.

I don't think it matters what position you are in for most of it, only what position you are in when ejaculation occurs. You could probably mix it up a bit, I personally have to as we have been ttc #2 for about 8 months now and it would have been a bit too rote if we only did the missionary position every time! Also, most of the mommies I know were over 30 when their babies were born so I wouldn't waste the energy worrying about it, especially when positive thinking really helps. Blessings and Baby Dust to you!!!

Good luck with the conception tip tho dont try so hard it will make having a baby harder. When its ready to happen it will. Babies (teens) having babies they are not ready yet

Oh, you'll be fine, Missy. I had my first baby at 35. A beautiful, healthy girl who is now so busy and active at 15 months. And I am now pregnant with our second baby, only 4 wks along. We did ttc for 7 months with this second child and the only things different this month of getting pregnant were taking folic acid, vitamin b-complex, having s_x every other day just days before ovulation and through day after ovulation for sure. Also whatever s_x position that allows for the deepest penetration, usually missionary or him from behind. But the most important is probably elevating your hips and legs right after he ejaculates and staying there for at least 20 minutes to allow his sperm the best chance at getting to your cervix. Hope this helps. And you are not considered high risk, they say till you are 35 and older. Good luck, Missy!

I'm 32. Missionary did the trick for me. I conceieved after what I thought was my fertile window- so don't stop after your window. And the night we conceived we had just the greatest s_x- so keep it hot. Good luck!

well if missionary is best position im gonna be screwed when we start ttc as i like it from behind (both on our sides or me on my belly with hips raised). It dont really think it makes a difference as long as it in there :)
