I don't know if you know this, so wanted to share just in case....having an organism will help you conceive! When a man ejaculates inside a woman, it usually collects right outside her cervix. While a woman has an orgasm, her cervix opens and closes, effectively "dipping" it into the s____n.

We started with me on top until I reached orgasm then switched to him on top until he reached orgasm. I asked him to stay inside for a while longer than usual and then I made sure to stay on my back after he pulled out and did not get up for about 20 minutes. That's how we happened to conceive.

The missionary position and stay-on-your-back wisdom seems to have worked for me. I am 33 yo and pregnant with my 4th. My 3rd is 4 yo, so this is my first pregnancy over 30, and I was wondering if I should be nervous. Then my Dr., at the first visit, was going through the basic history and risk factors, and basically said (without me raising the age issue at all), "so you're only 33, age isn't an issue here..." I guess everything is relative!

Hi Missy...what my doctor advised me is that it's best to try to concieve missionary style but after you finish do not stand up or the s____n will just run right out. The dr. advised me to lye on my back with my bottom elevated ust like Robin said and it worked for me we actually got pregnant within 2-3 months. Good luck!

It only becomes somewhat of a risk at 35 and a high risk at 40. You have plenty of time. Have you already beeing TTC and are having trouble? I got pregnant at 34 on the first try.

thanks for all the advice ladies, glad to report that I am pregnant. We conceived around April 3, I am 13 weeks along. We achieved this through missionary, used an ovulation test kit, and that was that. :)

Congrats! I am 30 (honestly, not a hyped-up, angsty, 14-year-old with internet access!)....
I was going to say, missionary position, having s_x every-other day and not getting-up for at least 20 minutes. It worked for me and my hubby the first month trying!

well i read the closer the p___s is to the cervix the better ur chances. i believe "doggy style" puts the p___s very close, and i also heard that an orgasm helps too, it pulls the sperm closer to your uterus. good luck

Hello, I am not over 30, but this might be helpful. I have a retroverted uterus, so missionary is not best for me, we conceived this time with me on hands and knees and him entering from behind. That way he could get deeper penetration and give those little guys a head start, since my cervix and uterus are at an odd angle. Then, after, I would flip over and lay on my back w/ a pillow under my rear. Just something to consider if any of you are having the same problem.

I got pregnant when I was 32 and just had my baby 6 weeks ago and age 33. I do not feel it is high risk....I am emotionally and financially stable. Our baby is perfect and healthy. By the way, he was conceived missionary style - I did lay in bed afterward we had s_x....not sure if it helped or not, but we did get pregnant first time trying. Good Luck to you!

I am 32 and 34 weeks pregnant - We stopped birth control in September of last year and I was pregnant early December. We didn't do anything particularly crazy to conceive either. Actually, my periods started being irregular at that time! 2 weeks late for a few months and then two weeks early. Then I was pregnant. My Dr thought I was not ovulating so they had me start charting my basal body temps. This actually was a very interesting way to know when you actually ovulate each month. That way you can make sure you have s_x like crazy around that time. I only charted for a couple of weeks, and somehow I knew I was pregnant. :) Guess ovulation wasn't a problem! I also think that waiting till you are a little older is smart. I was not mature enough to have a baby in my late teens, early 20's. Everyone is different of course. But, there really aren't any major issues with having a baby at 30+. Ever time I go to the Dr I feel like it's ME that is the young one. So many people are having babies later in life.
