I have been trying for about 2 weeks now to get my milk supply up- pumping every 3 hours round the clock- nursing my baby when I get home from work and through the night (supplimenting after nursing)and pumping afterwards. I am still only pumping out about 1/2 oz combined. Has anyone successfully brought their milk supply by doing this and if so how long did it take? ( I have also tried more milk plus with no results)

In one complete day I will pump anywhere from 1/2 oz to 1 oz. I am using the medela pump in style advance.

Some people can't pump, but nurse fine. I think it may have to do with the pump not stimulating the nipple enough for some women.

The only way I can pump is if I am feeding my daughter off of one side and pumping off the other. Its a bit of a challange and the humming sound of my pump usually puts her to sleep pretty fast, but its the only thing that workes for me. However I have noticed that my milk supply is way down too. I am going to ask my DR today at my daughters 6 month check up.

Hi, I had to leave my baby with no notice for a whole weekend for a death in the family, and lost almost all of my milk! I was heartbroken thinking I couldn't nurse anymore because after four painful days of having to nurse her when my b___bs were empty (very hard to feel like you're torturing your kid!) I still had nearly no milk. I started taking fenugreek and eating lots of oatmeal, and within 24 hours I saw a huge difference. I have been doing this for a week and a half and my supply is amazing, way better than before I even left.. Good luck Sara.
