It is up to you. In my hospital, they would take the baby and keep it in the nursery if you needed sleep. I did this for several nights for a 5 hour stretch of sleep. I needed it to function during the day. My baby was given 1 bottle of formula during the night by the nurses. There were a lot of babies in the nursery so moms and dads could sleep. You tell them what you want, and they will do it. What city/state are you in, if you are in the US?

E is right - it's up to you... I had 3 c-sections and I was able to try b___stfeeding in the recovery room. In our hospital the baby stays in your room, normally even when you are sleeping (but there was the option to send them to the nursery) Depending on how good the nurses are, and how busy the maternity ward is and how understaffed they are -- you may get a 2hr reminder (if the baby doesnt wake you) but you may want to bring a travel alarm clock... especially with brand new babies. Sometimes after c-section they sleep a lot (they never got the adrenaline rush of birth I guess) Good luck - and don't worry!
