I am 5months pregnant and I am going to br___tfeed once my little one comes. I was told that if I was going to br___tfeed, I should only wash my br___ts with water and to not use soap or lotions or anything like that. Is this true??

yes, don't use any soaps, etc. allow your nipples to air dry or to dry in the reusable b___st pads (dont get the disposable ones - they harbour bacteria). doing this allows for the milk to dry on the nipple, the milk is concentrated with antibodies and nutrition. washing the nipples only removes that. when you shower, just use water over them and avoid all soaps and shampoos. hopes this helps!

The part abt washing only with water is true. air dry them if possible. if you can't air dry, make sure your nipple is dry after feeding before you put clothing back on or bacteria or yeast can grow on your clothing and infect your nipples. However, i was told to use disposable b___st pads and to change them often to avoid a yeast infection on the nipples. And also if i were to use the washable ones, doc said to sterilise them by boiling them.

I don't recomend it, but I didn't know that I shouldn't use soap until after my son was born. I guess I was lucky nothing happened
