Hospital Grade Pump Vs High End Regular Pump

My husband and I are researching the purchase of a good quality br___t pump. We are wondering what the overriding advantages of getting a pump rated "Hospital Grade" over those of an otherwise good quality pump (i.e. the Ameda Purely Yours pump) are. Any input would be appreciated.

I rented a hospital grade one and had unimpressive results. I then bought a manual Avent Isis and had pretty good results. I thought maybe I had used the hospital grade one wrong and rented it again and it's even worse now. My Avent works much better.

I have the Medela Pump in Style and it works great for me. I also have an Avent Isis and I don't like it as much. It's nice to have just in case you have to go on an unexpected road trip like I did recently. I don't think you'll need a hospital grade one. If you do, I would suggest renting and not purchasing.

You will do better with the Isis. Plus, you're only talking about $30 or so, compared to rental fees or purchase prices in excess of $300 for pumps that don't work nearly as efficiently as the Avent manual one. I could empty both b___sts in 20 minutes, and fill 2-3 Avent storage containers, 8 oz. each with milk at each pumping session. I would try the Avent Isis first if I were you. If it works as good for you as it did for me, you will save TONS of money. Oh, and cleanup is easy too.

Ok what the hell am I doing wrong? 2-3 storage containers from one pumping?!? I'm lucky if I can get 3oz!!! And it's not like I have small b___sts either. They're big and gross looking so they should be good for something. My daughter is gaining weight okay (my doctor says she's an acceptable weight at the 50th percentile) but I want to store some and I'm having a really hard time of it. It's also getting harder for me to pump now for some reason and it seems like my daughter is having a harder time sucking too. This sucks!! I'm so jealous!! lol

I like the avent isis pump. I doesn't cost very much (less than $50), portabe and easy to clean.
