My infant is now 5 months. I'd like to stop br___tfeeding. I understand that it has to be gradual for me so that milk supply decreases as I supplement with formula. I have a problem though. My baby will not accept the bottle. I've tried giving with a spoon or a mini plastic cup and others other than me have tried. My infant cries and prefers the br___t. However, he will eat rice cereal with formula. How can I get him to drink formula?

I really don't know the answer as I have no experience yet. I have a suggestion... what if you pump the b___stmilk...and bottlefeed the b___stmilk some of the time..gradually increase the bottle feeds. Once he gets used to the bottle, maybe gradually switch to formula. The bottle AND formula might be too new for him.

I b___stfeed and bottle feed and my son is now 3 months. He's starting to get to the point where after awhile he'll cry for the b___st. So I'm thinking it'll be harder for you. I'm sure it's possible though. What nipples are you trying to use? I would suggest the Playtex Nurser or Avent. My hubby tried giving my son a regular old nipple and he had no clue what to do with that thing. They use a completly different sucking motion from b___st to nipple. Try to use one that is closer to b___st. Also, have someone else feed your baby a bottle. I wouldn't try to cut cold turkey or you'll have one upset little infant.
