Why wouldn't you be able to go to the dentist? Are you worried about the time it will take and how it may interrupt your feeding schedule? Or are you worried about any potential drugs s/he may use on you? When/if you do go, just let him/her know that you are bf so they don't use anything on you that would be dangerous to the baby.

I am worried about the drugs they will give me, I wont even take tylenol for the fear it will do something to my baby, I guess it is a fear I have to get over my tooth hurts really bad. I am sure if I tell them I am bf then they will give me something safe for the baby, you see that is what I am afraid of what if they make a mistake and give me something that may harm my baby.

Can you handle the procedure and pain afterwards w/o drugs?

It all depends on what all they will have to do.

I went to the dentist with sore teeth and he told me that cavities don't normally hurt.(and I didn't have any) You should go and just make sure your dentist knows you're nursing they wont give you anything you shouldn't have.

I have replied to this somewhere else I'm sure I have :-| Oh well! If you need a tooth taken out or a filling you wil get a local anastetic, which will not go into the milk. If you have a ulcer or something that requires medication tell your dentist that you are b___stfeeding and they will give you something that will be safe to use while b___stfeeding. Tablets can change the way b___stmilk tastes so it could put the baby off your milk.

if you just need a filling try it without any drugs. I have done that everytime since I dont like needles and the drill doesnt hurt. It may pinch a little if they get close to a nerve, but otherwise it feels like a manicure.
