Let down is the milk going from the ducts to the nipple. If it's a heavy or fast let down, you will feel it, and sometimes you'll start to drip (or spray) milk. Some letdowns can be painful or irritating - others, there's just an awareness of it. But, if you can't feel it, don't worry, it's not that big of a deal, as long as your baby is having lots of dirty diapers and gaining weight.

If you can't feel it you can tell when you have it because your baby will start to "chug" at the b___st.
