Are any of you on iron pills for anemia? If so, have you noticed any affect on the baby going 'number two'?

I'm supposed to be on iron pills but I don't like taking them...I've heard that too much iron can make a baby's poo bloody, I think? THere's a thread about giving babies vitamins that I think mentions it...I'll see if I can't find and bump the thread for you.

Thanks. His doctor told me the small amount in the b___stmilk won't affect him, but I'm questioning it.

I give my baby Tri-Vi-Sol w/ iron and he seems okay w/ it. I only give it to him every other day, though. I did question it as he supposedly does not need the extra iron at his age, but the doctor thought he'd be fine. His poop seems to have more texture to it, but is the same color as it always has been.

I take a tablespoon of blackstrap mola__sas each day insetad. It is very high in iron and has other good things in it too (calcium for one). This natural suplement doesn't stop me up like the iron pills do and my blood tests show that my levels are fine this way. My Dr. was warry of this before the bloodtest, but now is having some of his other patients that have problems with the iron pills try it too. My baby is not effected by the mola__sas at all, but had hard time pooing when I was on the iron pills.
