My three day old son has only had one bowel movement. How concerned should I be? My milk came in today. Thanks in advance.

Now that your milk is in, watch for a movement. If he doesn't hve one today call the pediatrician.

I agree with Jenn. Also, remember that it should change color and consistency over the next few days, so keep and eye out for that too.

It's OK to go for a week without a BM if the baby is nursing regularly and has no other symptoms. Call your Dr. office if you need asurance. They will answer your questions right away.

My daughter only has a BM every four days or so - but, since she farts on a regular basis, I'm not too concerned about it...I figure *something* is coming out so she's not stopped up. LOL

i remember it took a while, but it took 5 days for my milk to come in, at least he had one so its not blocked up there, id still mention it to your midwife, do they not come see you everyday?
