Anyone have an home remedies that work to treat plugged ducts? Also- how long until they start feeling better?

Take a nice hot shower and ma__sage them at the same time. Place warm/hot compresses on them and ma__sage them while pumping. I have that problem when pumping too. Try to relax and sit in a comfy chair.

Thanks! I kept warm/ hot compresses on them for almost every moment of yesterday and today I feel almost completely better! It just was really one of the most painful things I've ever dealt with!

Do you pump? Make sure you ma__sage them when you pump. Mine will get blocked up and nothing comes out but if I ma__sage them really hard I get a lot more milk and they empty out. Make sure you empty them if you can. If you're nursing, try pumping out what your baby doesn't get after he/she is full. That will help too if it keeps becoming a problem.

Also maybe try different positions when nursing for example te football hold then switch to cradle for the next feeding.

Thanks for the ideas- I am fully recovered- thank God!

Ma__sage, heat pad (or hot water bottle), and nursing on the afflicted side- that is what I did and it cleared up in a couple days. When you nurse on that side, try to get your baby's chin over the hard lump if you can. His/her sucking and chin pushing on that area will ma__sage the blocke duct. If you get a feer, call your doc. It may be becoming mast_tis and you may need antibiotics. Good luck
