My daugher (almost 3 mos) has not pooped in 11 days. This is not unusual for her--we have been to the doc about this and he has her taking karo syrup and prune juice in a bottle (with expressed br___tmilk)---which has not increased her bowel movements at all. she is not uncomfortable and is very happy...although I know this is a VERY long time to not poop. How long is the longest that some of your have gone???

DON'T use karo syrup! it's unpastureized and can cause botulism. yeah, your doctor told you to do it, but the AAP says not to, your doctor needs to get with the times. if baby is exclusivly b___stfed i wouldn't worry unless baby shows signs of discomfort. b___stmilk is so pure that very very little of it is not broken down and used by the body. my nursers have gone over a week with no poop.

my doc told me i could give my little one 1/4 tsp of mineral oil in a bottle or half of a glyceryn sepository or pear juice (1 oz per month of age tice a day) at the time she was exlusivly b___st fed i would recomend watering down the juce (my daughter spit up less that way) or straight prune juice (if you want to mix it with something water might work better) good luck

I wouldn't do karo syrup. I believe it is a corn based syup and corn is a very allergenic food. Your baby could get a food allergy later on. As for the prune juice... my dr. told me to give it in a bottle with 1/3 juice and 1/2 water. He said to make the juice be about 1 ounce (so 2 oz water). My son went 5 days without a poop btw....
