Anything To Prepare The Nipples

Hi. I intend to br___tfeed and was wondering if anything, like a balm or a cream, existed that would prepare my nipples for it ? I know that my sister, who lives in another country, was given a balm (from peru) to sort of toughen the nipples so that it wouldn't hurt that much.... Any advide/ideas ? Thanks guys :)

i use a cream called lansinoh. it's more like an ointment really. it doesn't toughen them, it's more like conditioner. :) the best way to avoid sore nipples is to make sure your baby has a good latch. there will probably be some discomfort at first, but the more you work at the easier it gets. if you have access to a lactaion consultant take advantage of it. she can help you get off to a great start.

i b___st fed and it didnt' hurt. but baby had a good latch from the start. dont be afraid of asking for help. and don't get discourage. it's new to you just as it's new to the baby he/she will have to learn. as for a balm i dont think there is anything, not that ive heard of anyway. but hang in there and don't give up.
