Christy don't listen to Carol she's wrong. Your baby is the one that knows what she's doing. I want to ask Carol if she had to listen to her baby crying and screaming incessantly while she denied him/her feedings? That sounds a little sadistic to me! If baby wants to suck for comfort try using your finger and cuddling her close to your tummy, maybe she will respond to that and you won't have to have your poor b___bs out all day long. My lactation consultant told me I could let my son suck on his daddy's nipple sometimes lol!!! And you know what, I can't believe I'm saying this but it worked! It was a little humorous at first but we've done it 3 times and now it's no big deal. Thank God my hubby has big nipples . . .

Well, and even though the growth spurts kind of suck (no pun intended-lol) I thought the reason they feed like crazy is to increase your milk supply to meet their increasing nutritional needs/demands. Alysa- I read what you wrote to my husbad and he was like, "Now I'm scared!" LOL!

As your baby gets older it will take him or her a lot less time to empty your b___st. At first my son would suckle for what seemed to be hours. Now at 8 months he's too busy to suckle all day. He wants to play with his rattle and pull the dogs ear.

worried- You are fine. Keep doing what you are doing, Your bub will be sleepy for a while, but keep feeding her as you are so that you can build up your milk supply. As long as she is wetting and soiling her diapers at about each feeding (maybe less for stooling) and eating at least 8 times a day, she should be fine. When do you take her to the doctor?
