Breastfeeding In Public

I agree, Jamie. I think some women here expect a b___stfeeding woman to care too much about what they think. It is not always convenient ( or possible, really) to go where people aren't. And MANY babies do NOT like to be all covered up when eating. I don't think I should have to compromise OUR comfort for yours, especially when all you have to do is look away.

Sure.. to hell with us and our sensibilities well same goes to you to hell with you and your nipple showing, quite frankly Im tired of seeing women on here b___hing about getting called whores or whatever they are called for showing your b___bs and nipples. GET over it.. you will get called that ..you need to learn to accept that, and some of you say b___bs are for the sole purpose of b___stfeeding?? well then dont display them when you are not b___stfeeding if your nipple aint in your kids mouth you aint b___stfeeding. And believe it or not .. not all men WANT to see your b___bs either. Some men dont WANT to see them or like to see other womens b___bs other then the wifes. Same goes for children why do you think you can sit there with everything showing and then MY children are being exposed to your nakkedness.

Urma, why do you a__sume that b___stfeeding equals being a topless dancer in a stripjoint? Sheesh.

I dont believe I stated that Jamie, but someone in here mentioned showing nipples and b___bs and whatever else when they do b___stfeed. Im talking to the ones that do feed their baby like that. Its not needed in any way

I was so proud to b___stfeed that I really did care what others thought. I always b___stfed in public, for the most part no one seemed to mind..some people would say that I should have waited until I got home...but my response was" do you wait to eat wehn you are hungry?"

Urma, no one here said they walk around with their b___st just hanging out, no feeding child.. but the truth of the matter is, there will be small moments of "nakedness" when getting your child to latch, or when they are done.. and that can't really be helped, at least not for me. I'm not standing next to *your* husband saying HAY LOOK! HERE'S MY NIPPLE! I'm either tucking myself back in or I'm getting my self out so she can eat.

I think what we all need to realize is that it depends on what part of the world you live in. If you live in Europe, it is so much different than North America. Unfortunately it seems that b___stfeeding in public is not as accepted in North America as it is in other parts of the world. I wish it weren't that way, and I don't know why it is. Maybe there is an over abundance of perverts here? I don't know. How many nude beaches are there in Europe? Lots. How many are there in Canada and the U.S.? Not many. North America is just not as layed back in regards to these things. Do what you feel is best for your baby. After all, they are the most important, aren't they?

I was thinking that same thing Kim, I dont see why people would care if you ARE b___stfeeding in Europe with Or without a blanket considering they allow nudity on billboards and things like that.Canada and the States are different but I dont think its the b___stfeeding that people are not accepting about, Id say its more the showing of your b___st while doing it thats more of a no no.
