I drink 2 cups of 1/2 caffeine and 1/2 decaf. a day with half and half . That looks weird writing that. Anyway, I do take prenatal vitamins. I do believe they are important esp for you b/c the baby will get all the vitamins in your body and you may not have any left over for yourself. You may be depeleting yourself of calcium which could be real bad later in life. I take whole food vitamins and 90 (3 mos worth) are 30.00 so that's only $10 per month. Hope that helps :)

A little caffeine is not supposed to be a bad thing. My doctor said one cup a day was okay--moderation. I decided to skip coffee and caffeinated soft drinks altogether, but here I am eating a bag of chocolate M&Ms. Heh! The prenatal vitamin issue is more serious. KH is right. They cover what you might not be providing to your baby in your normal eating schedule. Folate is important as is calcium. Unless you are diligently charting your eating habits to make sure you are getting enough vitamins, I would take prenatals. By the way, a bag of M&Ms has 4% of the daily intake of calcium! Ohoh, it also has alot of sugar and empty calories--darn fine print!

Oops, did not realize. Is this a b___st feeding question or a pregnancy question? I answered as if it were a pregnancy question.
