while i was at the hospital i was given a survey on the future possiblity of paying mothers for their suprlus milk so (they will proccess it to make sure that is is clean kinda like they do with cow milk) so that other mothers who cant nurse for any reason can give their babies br___t milk for any amount of time desired do you think this is a good idea?

Absolutely. There is another post not too far down about a mother with no milk...it would certainly help her.

Interesting survey,I eould have gladly gave some of my milk to a milk bank if it was available in my area,I had lots of milk like a cow. I tramdum nursdes two boys two years apart no problem.

I don't know if you have ever heard of The Farm where all these midwives live (one of who is named Ina May and has written several books) If the mother was unable to nurse, lactating friends would stop by and nurse her baby for her. I think if someone is willing to give my baby her b___stmilk if I can't for some reason, I think it's great! My friend pumps for a lady in canada so that her son can get the benefits of b___stmilk. It's a family community thing.
