So for the first time I tried to pump and have my husband give our daughter a bottle, ya she didnt like it what so ever-she is 4 weeks. I would like for him to have some bonding time with her in doing a feeding, also I would like to know if need be she can have a bottle if and when I return to work. How can I help this situtation, I am using the advent system, and I dont really want to do trial and error with all different bottles/nipples. Dont really have the extra money to do so. She also doesnt like to take pacifiers only every now and then. What can I do?

don't give up b/c you only tried it once. It took my son a little bit to get used to it and he is 10 weeks and sometimes still has trouble. Keep trying :)

this might sound silly but when your daughter id doene eating on one side look at your b___st and then find the bottle or nipple closest to it. my daughter prefered the wide mouth gerber and p;aytex insulator while i was nursing but now that im not nursing anymore shell take any bottle that the milk comes out of

We're having the same problem. I had it with my first baby, too. She wouldn't take a bottle until she went to day care. The dr said she would get hungry enough and take it and, sure enough, by the middle of the second day, she did. With this baby, I would prefer her to get used to it sooner, rather than later, since she won't go to day care until 5 months. I had to be away from home for a whole day last week and, although it wasn't pretty, she took just enough from the bottle to get by. My husband estimated that she ate about 3 ounces over the course of the day, mostly by gnawing on the nipple. She wasn't starving, but sure was happy to see me! Her problem seems to be that she gags after 2-3 sucks on the nipple. I have tried different ones (left over from my first daughter's experiences), but regardless of shape, they are all about the same length and she chokes on them. She used to have problems with gagging while nursing, but not anymore. If anyone has tips on how to handle this, please let me know!

The platex nurser system is the only one that my little one will take..its the closest to a real b___st...i have tried those new bottles and he will not take them the nipples are too hard.. so i find the old school colapsing bags work the best....just make sure to use something like a dish towel to push up into the bottom and get all the air out....hope this helps

WELL LAST NIGHT I STARTED HER ON THE BREAST AND WHEN SHE WAS FINISHEN ON ONE SIDE I GAVE HER TO DAD AND SHE TOOK THE BOTTLE-NO PROBLEM AT ALL! SO MAYBE BY STARTING IT WHEN SHE ISNT SUPER HUNGRY IS A GREAT IDEA FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO IS HAVING TROUBLE. MY NEXT PROBLEM....TRYING TO EXPRESS MORE THAN JUST AN OUNCE PER 45 MIN! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUGGESTIONS
