My baby is gaining weight properl;y, so i know that i produce enough milk, even though i never leak or wet my bra. My problem is that i dont know when should y pump my milk so i can have it as a reserve, should i do it after or before nursing. What if i-m leaving my baby for the weekend. thanks

I hear it is best to do in the morning. I got 5 oz the other morning in like 8 minutes, while I only got 1 oz doing it at night. I think you should do it after you nurse, and maybe after you shower so that you flow a little easier. :)

If your baby is sleeping threw the night, pump then. You should get at least 3oz from each side. If your leaving your baby for the weekend you need ALOT of milk, always give 2more oz per bottle just in case so if you normally give 4oz make sure you have 6oz for each bottle, and if your baby is not on any solids yet budget a bottle for every 2 hours (just in case) even though you may only be nursing every 3 or 4. I personally think its not worth the time and effort, pumping that amount of milk will take some time, Maybe wait unitl your baby is on some solids before leaving for the weekend.
