It's been almost two years( just 4 months shy of two years) since my c-section and I still have pains, but on my right side of the incision area( just slightly below incision). It feels like a sharp knife pain, like something is left there trying to push through. Can someone please help with some information on what this may be? For this was my third c- section and it is much to painful and I would feel better dead than to be in this kind of pain. At times it is so unbearable where I can't even stand upright and feel like I can just die from it. It has become an almost everyday thing that I live with. It has affected me so much for I desired to exercise but this pain just want allow me. No one seems to understand or can empathize, they just seem to believe I am just overreacting. Is there anyone who have the same problem for this pain has kept me immobilized at times and can't immediately see after my son or get him what is needed. I have to literally drag myself out of the bed. When I'm sitting down and have to get up I have to do it very slowly like I am very old but am only 29 yrs old. I don't have insurance and am waiting to get it in order to have a doctor check me. Thanks so much and would appreciate any help that could be given.

Does it also hurt when you cough? When you are laying down and use your stomach muscles to get up does it feel like a sharp pinching feeling? If you place your hands over the area and cough can your feel something bulging? If so, you may have a hernia. These can be a significant medical problem so I suggest you really push for an urgent appointment. Good luck!

Not much pain when I cough, but oohhh...so much when I sneeze. I try not to sneeze at all and am so scared when I have to because when I can't hold the sneeze it is like a sharp pain just rushing through my right side around where the incision is. It's like a balloon or something that just wants to explode, but is really really so painful where I feel like I can just lay down and die. That's how bad it is. Also, when I'm lying down I have to hold that area when I get up or just try to endure the pain. I sleep on my left side mostly, because if I lay on right it is very hard to get up I have to move like a turtle. When I stand up I have to do it very slowly. It is really getting increasingly worse and I sometimes just cry because it is so unbearable at times and at other times I just try my best to cope. I feel it now every single minute of the day but sometimes the pain is just excruciatingly bad where I can't move at all. I pray it gets better and empathize with every women who is enduring this kind of pain. I know some people dealing with this c-section pain may or may not be worst. I feel mine is just one of the one's that top the pain list for this problem.

I agree w/ djh... is there any sort of urgent care where you can be seen right away? I'm sorry to hear you are having so much pain! I've had 3 c-sections, too (plus a hernia operation). I have nothing as painful as what you are describing, but I do have too much pain around the incision area to do any abdominal exercises and sometimes sitting up to get out of bed is painful. My youngest was born 2 years ago (well, he will be 2 next week). I can't even imagine going through all of that pain on a daily basis. I pray that you will get your answer, and a way to help you, soon!
