C Section For Breech Baby

I just found out my baby is in breech position and I'm in week 36 now. My Dr. highly recommended c-section because she said that an external cephalic version (ECV) would endanger the baby being that the placenta is at the front of my belly. My question is whether anyone else has scheduled a c-section because of breech and then had a baby turn after week 36? Do they check with an ultrasound right before they do the c-section and then cancel the section or induce labor instead if the baby has turned head down? I don't have my next appointment until next week but am too anxious to wait and I"m curious to hear of any similar experiences too.

Hello Perl My baby was breech until the very end. I had the scheduled C-section and yes, they do check to see if he/she turns at the last moment (I kept my fingers crossed). She did not budge so out she came via C-section. Apparently her head was quite hard to deliever and was lodged in my right side ribs. Good luck to you and no worries.

My baby was also breech. And they also did an ultrasound at the hospital to make sure the baby hadn't turned. My doctor had told me at my last appointment before going to the hospital that if the baby does turn, although unlikely at that point, that they would send me home and I would wait until I go into labor on my own. But, baby didn't turn and I had a c-section. It turned out that I have a heart-shaped uterus, so my baby was unable to turn after she had gotten so big. My c-section itself and the recovery went so well that I wish you have the same experience. I was sad I had to have a c-section, but in the end we have our baby, so that is all that matters. Good Luck!
