C-sections, shouldn't have to be a nightmare. Both my pregnancies were c-sections, both babies were breech. But, I had wonderful doctors. My c-sections, with epiderals, were performed with me awake. No complications!!!!. No swelling, no fever. In fact, after my first, I lost 28lbs of stored water retention the first 24 hrours. My millk came in & we were good to go.
I'm so sorry to hear, how careless & thoughtless our healthcare providers have become. This infection thing is not the patients fault, but lack of proper hygeine in our hospitals & O.R.'s

Yes, that is great to hear. I had three positive c-section experiences and everything was fine, no infections or complications. I agree also that sometimes the success of a c-section does depend on proper hygeine being practiced at the hospital. It also depends on the skill of the surgeon. And a lot of the time, a c-section performed before the onset of labour will make it a better experience for the woman as well instead of making her labour for hours and hours and then taking her in for an emergency c-section because of failure to progress or because baby is in distress. Planned sections are usually easier on a woman's body than emergency sections.
