Hi, Im hoping that someone can give me some much needed advice. I am 34 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and have a low lying placenta. My OB is unsure of its exact location (front or back) as yet and was scheduled for another scan next week and he has given me the option of an elective c-section. My dilemma is that with my first, I delivered va___ally and was only 2 1/2 hours in labour. I live about an hour from the hopital and am worried that if something go wrong, I wont make to the hospital in time. I am worried about having a c-section because of the recovery time. Can anyone shed some much needed advice. Thanks

Well I would suggest that if your concerned about not making it in time to the hospital then try to set up something to where perhaps they can induce you into natural birth, my section was after 3 v____ally and I can tell you that the recovery time is alot longer with the csection. If you can have your baby v____ally I would definitally opt for it, just because it is better for you and baby, however if it is deemed better for the csection dont worry to much, its not as bad as the horor stories u hear. mine went wonderful and from experience the good news is u dont feel a thing until afterwords and thanks to the wonderful world of modern medicine...pain meds are a blessing!!! :) I was up and around the next day and not experiencing much pain. Every pregnancy is different so just get all the facts and do your best to make an informed decision with the help of your OB. Goodluck to you

Thanks xxs_xyhackerxx for your advice, it was much appreciated and great to hear from someone who's been there. I have asked my OB for another ultrasound to determine the location of the placenta(as the last reports didnt really tell him much) so I guess I'll know in a couple of days if a natural birth is possible. (Fingers crossed). Thanks again.

Hey Renee08, if it makes you feel any better, back in the day without the fancy 4-D machinery I was delivered v____ally and my placenta came with my head! My mom had bleeding the entire pregnancy and because they didn't know where the placenta was they didn't want to do a c-section in case they cut into it. If it will calm any of your fears I have always received A's in school and still am in nursing school now, had no ADHD or learning disabilities, was an Olympic-level gymnast and now have 4 kids (all c-section unfortunately)! Whatever your doctor decides is best, but just wanted to give you the long term story on one placenta previa kid born v____ally. I'll be thinking of you!
